Guide
How to prepare for a UAE corporate bank account
The short answer
Prepare four things before applying: a licence and constitutional documents that match your actual activity, full identity and ownership information including beneficial owners, a realistic picture of expected inflows, outflows, currencies and counterparties, and documented source of funds. Banks apply customer due diligence in line with central bank standards, and no adviser can guarantee approval.
Applications rarely fail on a single missing form. They fail when the story does not hold together: a licence that says one thing, a website that says another, and projections nobody can explain.
Treat the application as a credit-style file about your business, and the process becomes far more predictable.
What banks assess
- The business activity and whether it matches the licence.
- Ownership and control, including ultimate beneficial owners.
- Expected transaction volumes, currencies, and counterparties.
- Source of funds for capital and expected revenue.
- Substance: workspace, staff, and operational evidence.
- Track record: contracts, invoices, and prior banking history.

Writing the business narrative
One page, plain language: what you sell, who buys it, how they pay, how much and how often, and where your money came from. Every number in it should be traceable to a document you can produce.
If you are declined
A decline is not always about your business. Banks manage risk appetite by sector and profile, and appetite changes. Review the file for gaps, strengthen the evidence, and consider whether a different bank's profile fits better before reapplying.
